Coupons and redemption codes
Coupon
Purpose: reduce the amount payable during checkout.
It does not change your current subscription plan and does not directly extend the expiration date.
The system checks validity period, availability status, usage count, and amount conditions.
Redemption code
Purpose: directly activate the subscription period bound to the code.
After redemption succeeds, the subscription status and corresponding expiration time are written to your account.
The system checks whether the code is expired, already used, and whether the source status is valid.
Redemption code limits
Most redemption codes are for new users only.
If the account already has a valid paid subscription record, redemption will usually be rejected.
After successful redemption, three things happen:
- The subscription status becomes active.
- The redemption code is marked as used.
- The expiration time is calculated based on the code period: weekly, monthly, or yearly.
When renewal takes effect
After renewal, upgrade, or successful redemption, the system updates the subscription status and reissues current-period entitlements based on the current plan.
If you have just completed payment but the page does not update immediately, there is usually a short status sync delay. Refresh the page or sign in again to see the update.
FAQ
| Question | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Why can't a coupon activate a subscription? | A coupon only affects the payment amount. It does not directly activate a plan. |
| The redemption code says unavailable | Common reasons include expiration, already used, or the current account does not meet the redemption conditions. |
| Payment succeeded but entitlements did not update | Refresh the page or sign in again first. If it still does not update, contact support and provide order information. |
