AI Interview Copilot/User Guide/Windows Keyboard Protection

Windows Keyboard Protection

Use the built-in Windows keyboard protection in the desktop client and control left/right Ctrl blocking as needed.

Windows Keyboard Protection

When to use

Use this only in the Windows desktop client when you need to prevent selected Ctrl keys and protected combinations from leaking to other apps.

This capability is built into the client now. You no longer need a browser extension.

How to enable

  1. Open Settings in the client
  2. Go to Advanced Settings
  3. Find Windows Keyboard Protection
  4. Turn on Enable keyboard protection
  5. Choose Block Left Ctrl and/or Block Right Ctrl

What each option does

  • Enable keyboard protection: no blocking when off; left/right Ctrl settings take effect when on
  • Block Left Ctrl: blocks the left Ctrl key and its combinations only
  • Block Right Ctrl: blocks the right Ctrl key and its combinations only

Behavior

  • Selected Ctrl keys and their combinations are no longer passed to other applications
  • The unselected side keeps working normally
  • Left and right Ctrl can be controlled independently
  1. Start with Left Ctrl only
  2. Keep Right Ctrl available if you still need a normal copy/paste fallback
  3. Run one shortcut/self-check round after changing the setting

Notes

  • Windows desktop client only
  • If the app says Windows keyboard protection is unavailable, update to the latest client and restart the app
  • Test your setup before a real interview
